PACLITAXEL BIOTECHNO PHARMA
Indications
Ovarian Carcinoma: In first-line chemotherapy for ovarian carcinoma, Paclitaxel is indicated in combination with cisplatin for the treatment of patients with advanced ovarian carcinoma or with residual disease (> 1 cm) after initial laparotomy.
In second-line chemotherapy for ovarian carcinoma, Paclitaxel is indicated for the treatment of metastatic ovarian carcinoma after failure of standard therapy with platinum derivatives.
Breast Carcinoma: In adjuvant treatment, Paclitaxel is indicated for the treatment of patients with node-positive breast carcinoma after receiving anthracycline and cyclophosphamide combination therapy (AC). Adjuvant treatment with Paclitaxel should be considered as an alternative to continuing AC treatment. Paclitaxel is indicated for the initial treatment of patients with metastatic or locally advanced breast cancer, either in combination with an anthracycline in patients for whom anthracycline treatment is indicated or in combination with trastuzumab in patients whose tumors overexpress HER2 at a 3+ level as determined by immunohistochemistry, and for whom anthracycline treatment is not indicated. As a single agent, Paclitaxel is indicated for the treatment of metastatic breast carcinoma in patients who have failed or are not candidates for standard therapy with anthracycline derivatives.
Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Carcinoma: Paclitaxel, in combination with cisplatin, is indicated for the treatment of non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) in patients who are not candidates for potentially curative surgery and/or radiotherapy.
